Concorde Orchids

In 2006 Ad, René and Ed Van Marrewijk switched from growing vine tomatoes to Phalaenopsis. It was crystal clear from the outset that Concorde Orchids intended to produce a top product. As the nursery is only a few hundred metres from the FloraHolland auction in Naaldwijk (The Netherlands), the goods are delivered fast and fresh.

The main customers are wholesalers and garden centres. To guarantee quality and security of supply, the three brothers invested in a reliable and sophisticated sorting system to cater for customised orders.
Concorde Orchids relies on the 12cm Orchid Li pot by THOMSEN for the production of their top quality plants. The outstanding clarity, stability and drainage capacity were the crucial deciding factors.

Branding is key to a good market launch and recognisability. THOMSEN called in one of their permanent designers, MiraKuleus, and created an eye-catching, recognisable and communicative corporate design, which is repeated on the labels, trays, sleeves, boxes, billboards etc.

The launch went entirely according to plan. Concorde Orchids then concentrated on reaching their targets. Within the year it had won acclaim for the fine quality of its plants and its excellent sorting. There is no doubt that the corporate design has helped Concorde Orchids to build and strengthen their identity.
